James Kasim is a certified public accountant (CPA) who has worked extensively in California. In addition to overseeing finances for businesses and educating the next generation of financial professionals as a college professor, James Kasim has served on the Report Quality Monitoring Committee of the California Board of Accountancy (CBA).
A division of the California Department of Consumer Affairs, the CBA is dedicated to establishing accounting guidelines statewide. Operating under the auspices of the CBA, the Report Quality Monitoring Committee examines and evaluates the financial reporting responsibilities of state CPA firms. The Report Quality Monitoring Committee operates as a self-regulatory organization to ensure full compliance and quality assurance.
In order to examine each firm’s practices, the Report Quality Monitoring Committee may require copies of licenses and selected financial reports that may date back three years. Firms are required to produce requested reports within 30 calendar days of their receipt of request.
